Karnataka government will not collapse in the normal sense but as the situation appears , they will just run away from discharging their duties said Mr Shantaram Naik M.P. and AICC Secretary in Belagaum on Monday.
Mr Naik who was inaugurating a membership drive camp in the city further said that the Karnataka government is now like a sleeping partner doing nothing to run the administration, and therefore, President of Karnataka PCC, its working President and the Opposition leaders of the two Houses of Karnataka Legislature , who belong to Congress Party, will have to attend to the grievances of the people.
The BJP legislators of Karnataka will carry forward their infighting till the end of their term which may come anytime but congress is absolutely not interested in their internal politics.
Mr Naik said that organizational elections of the party will commence at the beginning of January, 2010 for every booth to AICC, and that, around 35 lakhs members are expected to be enrolled throught Karnataka.
Mr Naik said that members enrolled in booth will elect a President, an Executive Committee and a delegate to Block Congress Committee. Block Congress Committee in turn will elect one member to the PCC and six members to the District Congress Committee.
PCC members so elected, will further elect, its President, Executive Committee, AICC members and also Pradesh Election Committee which decide the matters related to issue of tickets to Assembly and Parliament elections, he said.
Shri Shivkumar, Working President of Karnataka PCC said every congress members name, however high post he may hold, must figure in the booth membership register if he proposes to contest any party election.
An exercise to review the progress was undertaken after the inauguration of the camp.
