Finacial Assistance to Goa

Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah informed Mr. Shantaram Naik, MP in the Rajya Sabha today, in a written reply that Central financial assistance totaling Rs. 2.53 crore under various renewable energy schemes/programmes has been provided to Goa Energy Development Agency during the 11th Plan period upto 30.11.2009.

Giving the status of proposals received from Goa Energy Development Agency during the current financial year 2009-10, Dr. Abdullah informed Mr. Naik that for the proposal of Monitoring Report charges for 4 Wind-Solar Hybrid Systems, an amount of Rs. 50.20 lacs have been sanctioned to the agency and Rs. 0.60 released; for Celebration of Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas 2009, an amount of Rs. 4.50 lacs were sanctioned and Rs. 3.75 released.

The Minister further informed Mr. Naik that SPV + Wind Hybrid Power Systems (250KW) an amount of Rs. 430.00 lacs have been sanctioned, and that for information and awareness programme a sum of Rs. 3 lacs were sanctioned and released.
The Minister informed Mr. Naik that in principle a sum of Rs. 43.30 lacs have been approved by the Ministry for Programme on Development of Solar Cities Preparation of Master Plan & Allied Activities.

For Remote Village Electrification (RVE) provision of 89 HLS and 29 SLS, for Deployment of various Solar Photovoltaic Systems / Devices in urban Areas and for Special Area Development Programme (SADP) an amount of Rs. 271 lacs, Rs. 187.20 lacs and Rs. 965 lacs have been sought by the agency from the Central Government but the three proposals having been found not in accordance with the provisions of the schemes, the agency has been advised to submit fresh proposals.
