After single handedly scuttling the Rs 100 crore world class football academy in Cuncolim, Housing Minister, Mickky Pacheco has said he has no problem if Cuncolim MLA and Urban Development Minister, Joaquim Alemao gets the Academy back at the government acquired land at Panzorcone-Cuncolim.
Pacheco told HCN news channel that he has no problem if the Urban Development Minister want to utilize the 1.37 lakh sq m land at Panzorconne for the football academy. "I never said that I am opposed to the football academy. I had promised the people of Cuncolim to set up institutions and public utility projects on the land in question. We can still fulfill this promise by acquiring additional land admeasuring 94,000 sq m. Let both the football academy and institutions come up in Cuncolim", he said.
Replying to a question, Pacheco said the Housing Board would soon hand over the land in question to the State Urban Development Agency headed by Joaquim Alemao. "The land in question falls in Alemao's cosntiutuency. He is free to decide what projects to set up on the acquired land", Pacheco added.
