State govt to bring in administrative reforms

The Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat on Wednesday said the government would soon bring in administrative reforms for the benefit of common man in the state.

Speaking as the chief guest at valedictory function of the three-day conference on 'local governments for sustainable and safe cities' organised by the All-India Institute of Local Self-Government at Dona Paula, the Chief Minister said if a person wants to construct a dwelling unit on a plot of less than 500 sq mts, then NoC from the concerned authorities would be given promptly.

He observed that though Goa is a small state, it has witnessed tremendous progress almost in all fields. Expectations of people have risen, Mr Kamat said and added that the whole of Goa has become urbanised.

In the process of development of cities common man should be focal point. Cities should become a better place for common man to live in, he stated.

The AIILSG president, Dr Jatin Modi, the Director General, AIILSG, Mr Ranjit Chavan, the CCP mayor, Ms Carolina Po, the co-operation secretary, Mr K S Singh, project manager of Mumbai Transformation project, Mr U P S Madan, Dr Sneha Panitkar, Director AIILSG, Ms Hansa Patel, advisor, AIILSG, were amongst those present on the occasion.
