Two persons were critically injured and three vehicles gutted when an explosive hidden in a scooter went off on a busy street in the heart of Margao town, 30 kms from Panaji. Police said the blast was triggered at around 9.30 pm.
Two passersby were severely injured in the explosion and shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital where their condition continues to be critical, they said, adding that the two have been identified as Melgunda Patil and Yogesh Naik.
Three vehicles were also gutted as the explosive was hidden in a scooter parked behind Grace Church, located in the heart of the town.
Margao town, the south Goa district headquarters, is the constituency of Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat.
