Organisers of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Panaji have come up with a unique contest to involve film lovers in rating top 20 feature films of Indian cinema and have innovatively named it T20. Ten top filmmakers and 10 prominent critics from across the country will select the best 20 films from among the thousands made over the years.
The panel including Madhur Bhandarkar, Vishal Bhardwaj and Nagesh Kukunoor has been chosen by Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), the state body which co-hosts IFFI.
The initiative is part of a special contest commemorating the 40th edition of IFFI this year, in which any film lover from any part of the country can send in his or her list of 20 best-ever Indian films. The judges will select their individual list of best 20 films and submit it in sealed envelopes to ESG.
