48th Goa Liberation Day Celebrated with Great Respect

The 48th Goa Liberation day was celebrated with great respect at the Campal Parade grounds in Panaji on Saturday, Dec 19.

Chief minister Digambar Kamat unfurled the National Tricolour and took the salute. The Chief minister then inspected the parade which was followed by march past by the Goa Police platoon, NCC cadet platoon, Fire Services, Goa Police Band and School students.

The chief minister presented the chief minister’s Gold Medal to four police personnel for their dedicated and commendable services. The recipients of the awards are Dy. Sp Gajanan Prabhudessai, Police Inspector C L Patil, Police Inspector Santosh Dessai, Police Inspector, Sunita Sawant and Police Constable Oscar D’ Souza. The chief minister also presented 35 civilian Awards for those who have excelled in their respective fields. Around 600 students of the Goa Bal Bhavan presented the traditional Goan Tonya Mell which was followed by the ‘Lok Tirth’ performance by the students of the Old Goa Educational Trust.
