BJP President Attacked by Shantaram Naik Goa M.P. for holding Smt Sonia Gandhi responsible for Price Rise

Without directly mentioning the name of BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari, Mr Shantaram Naik M.P. attacked BJP leader for his remarks that Congress President Sonia Gandhi should also be held responsible for price rise and, requested the BJP members present in the House, to make their President learn the Constitution of India.

Mr Naik who was speaking on the Motion of Thanks on the Presidential address said that the newly appointed BJP President is on deputation from RSS to BJP against the wishes of many of the party leaders.

Mr.Shantaram Naik during speech said that BJP has no appreciation for the fact that the government withstood the world recession and that , there is also no co-operation from them to run the House, for, it is very clear, he said, that they are jealous of the progress country has made under Congress leadership.

Mr.Naik referring to series of arrests which have been made in recent times of fake "God Men" on charges of rape, murders and extortion, said that a thorough survey should be made, countrywide, of operations of bogus "sadhus" in the country.

Mr.Naik pleaded for a Constitutional amendment to provide for the running of a coalition governments as , at present, constitution does not provide for it, creating several problems.

Mr.Naik also felt the need of a Constitutional Amendment to maintain a regional balance in carrying out developmental activities, so that, ministers are not permitted to spend the budgetary amounts of departments under them, only in the constituencies, represented by him.

Mr.Naik pleaded for the establishment of disaster management institutes in the country as a part of preparedness to face natural calamities like flood, drought ,earthquakes etc.

Mr.Naik said that although Right to Information Act provides that heads of every government departments should give full information with respect to their respective departments on their websites , the mandatory provision is not being implemented by many departments resulting in the failure of concept of e-governance.

Mr.Naik said that Russian tourists in Goa do business illegally in violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act and hence, suggested that the act be amended to tighten its provisions.

Refering to government proposal of re-numbering National Highways Mr Naik suggested that that two National Highways should be made exceptions to the re-numbering scheme and said that National Highway running from Srinagar to Kanyakumari and from Porbandar to Silchar be named as Mahatma Gandhi National Highway I and Mahatma Gandhi National Highway 2 as a tribute to the man who tried to maintain unity of the country.

He also suggested that Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act be amended to provide clerical jobs for poor middle class families who may be equally poor but may not be able to undertake manual jobs on account of social prestige.
