The Congress high command will take a decision whether to drop Education Minister Babush Monseratte or not, chief minister Digambar Kamat said here today.
Monseratte has been chargesheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the Panjim police station stoning incident, in February 2008. Replying to query whether Monseratte would be dropped, Kamat said, "This is a coalition government and this decision will be taken by the Congress high command." It may be recalled that Monseratte was given a cabinet berth after dropping Dayanand Narvekar, who was chargesheeted in the infamous ticket-gate scam.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Subash Shirodkar had yesterday said that Babush is not from his party and hence he cannot comment on his dropping.
