Gas Pipeline for Goa to be completed by March 2012 : Goa MP

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural gas Shri Murli Deora informed Mr Shantaram Naik M.P. in the Rajya Sabha, today in a written reply that work of laying gas pipe line to Goa is planned to be completed by March 2012.

Minister informed Mr Naik that survey for laying the gas pipeline passing through Belgaum to the state of Goa and compilation of field data for Right of Use notifications is under progress.

The estimated cost of the entire network of Dabhol - Bangalore pipeline, along with the spur lines, including spur line to Goa, is Rs. 4543.43 crore, the minister said

Length of spurline to Goa is approximately 175 Km, which emanates from Gokak and terminates at Zuari Industries, Goa. This spurline passes through three States, i.e. Karnataka, Maharashtra & Goa. Length of pipeline in State of Goa is approximately 36 Km. the pipeline passes through its three districts, namely, Bicholim, Ponda & Morumgao, minister informed Mr Naik

Minister said that Phase – I estimated to cost Rs. 4057.38 crore consisting of mainline from Dabhol - Bidadi near Bangalore and spur lines / feeder lines to Goa, Bangalore with scheduled completion by March 2012 and

and that, Phase - II estimated to cost Rs. 486.05 crore consisting of spur lines/feeder lines to Ratnagiri, Kohlapur, Sangali, Bijapur, Dharwad, Devengere, Harthar & Tumkur with scheduled completion by December 2012.

Mr Deora informed Mr Naik that interaction with government of Goa has been initiated and Competent Authority for acquisition of Right of Use (ROU) in the State has been nominated by the State Government.
