Goa: Hanuman Jayanti celebrated

The birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman (Hanuman Jayanti) was celebrated at the temples of Lord Hanuman at Sudhanagar-Bicholim, Sanquelim, Naigini-Kudchirem and other places in the Bicholim taluka with a religious fervour and gaiety.

Various rituals like abhishek, janma sohala, pooja, bhajan and aarati were held to mark the celebration. Hundreds of devotees visited the Hanuman temples and offered the deity flowers and fruits seeking his blessings for strength, prosperity and happiness in the life.

Idol of Lord Hanuman was placed in a decorated cradle and hymns were sung by women devotees during the 'jnama sohala' at the Bicholim temple. 'Kirtan' on the life of Lord Hanuman was presented by renowned kirtankar, Mr Ramkrishnabuva Garde. Later in the late evening, musical performance 'Sumananjali' was presented by renowned artistes, Mr Sanjiv Mehandale and Ms Sampada Thite from Poona.
