Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr. Shashi, Tharoor informed Mr. Shantaram Naik, M.P. in the Rajya Sabha today that the Government proposes to launch a project by name: Passport Seva Project which envisages issuance of passports to the applicants in three working days excluding the day of submission of application where no police verification is required, and in cases which require prior police verification, in three working days after receipt of the verification report.
The Minister further replied that the Project aims to deliver all Passport-related services to the citizens in a timely, transparent, more accessible, reliable manner and in a comfortable environment through streamlined processes and committed, trained and motivated workforce.
Minister said that under the Project, 77 Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) are proposed to be set up. The applicants will be provided the facilities of online submission, end-to-end tracking of the application, and a dedicated national call centre to provide information and redress grievances in 17 languages.
In his reply Dr. Tharoor further informed Mr. Naik that the Project aims to deliver all Passport-related services to the citizens in a timely, transparent, more accessible, reliable manner and in a comfortable environment through streamlined processes and committed, trained and motivated workforce.
Mean while, Union Minister of State for Communications & IT, Shri Gurudas Kamat informed Mr. Shantaram Naik, M.P. in the Rajya Sabha today that BSNL proposes to launch 3G Services in Goa by 31 March, 2010. The Minister further informed Mr. Naik, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched 3G services in 318 cities till January 2010. He further informed Mr. Naik that initially the 3G service will be available in Panjim, Mapuca, Ponda, Madgaon & Vasco cities and it will provide facilities like Video calling, Video Conferencing, Mobile TV, Mobile Broadband, Video on Demand, Video Streaming, On Line games, Full Track Music Download
