Goa’s ruling Congress party today rallied behind Goa university registrar Mohan Sangodkar, who had allowed a programme of Rahul Gandhi in the university campus, saying the event was non-political “Rahul Gandhi?s meeting was non-political. There is nothing wrong in using the university campus for such meetings,” Chief Minister Digamber Kamat reacted to PTI this evening.
Sangodkar had offered to resign amidst snowballing controversy over allowing the university campus to be used for a political event of Gandhi?s visit on Tuesday. BJP?s youth wing had managed to eke out an assurance from Sangokdkar to resign as Registrar after their protests seeking his clarification on the contentious issue.
Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Committee President Sankulp Amonkar termed BJP?s action as ’sheer frustration’. “BJP is frustrated looking at the craze for Rahul Gandhi among students.
